About
Lefkara is a mountain village in the Larnaka district, split into Pano and Kato Lefkara, world-renowned for its handmade lace and filigree silver. Its lefkaritika lace, worked by hand in traditions dating back centuries, is inscribed on the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage, and legend has it that Leonardo da Vinci bought a Lefkara cloth for Milan's cathedral. Its stone lanes and squares host events through the year, including a Lefkara street food party.
