2nd Olive & Traditional Products Festival

The 2nd Olive & Traditional Products Festival in the Community of Nikitari–Asinou returns for the second consecutive year, inviting young and old to a special celebration dedicated to the olive, our traditions and our local products.

A festival dedicated to a product that is an integral part of our local identity — the Olive!

- Walking and photography at a centuries-old olive tree

- Guided tour of the community and its olive groves, including olive harvesting

- Preparation of tsakistes olives (cracked olives)/ Hands-on workshop for making traditional cracked olives

- Preparation of traditional dishes featuring olives

- Historical reenactments and an “Olive Hunt” for our young visitors

- Traditional dance performances

- Live music

Throughout the Festival:

- Traditional and handmade products, food, and drinks

- Hands-on workshop on making candles using olive oilThemed photo spot dedicated to the olive

- Hands-on workshop on preparing and serving warm palouzes (traditional Cypriot grape pudding)

- Olive-themed crafts and an Olive Hunt for younger visitors.

The Community Council of Nikitari will offer visitors a local treat: kapíres with olive oil and oregano, and tsakistes olives.
