The Cut of Her Jib

The Cut of Her Jib is a Scottish dark comedy written, directed and performed by Kathleen Ruddy, arriving in Cyprus after a sold-out run at the 2026 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

It is Hogmanay in Edinburgh, and Belinda Crabbs' husband Kelvin has vanished after thirty years of marriage. His car turns up at the ferry and his phone on a bridge, and Belinda seems rather less devastated than she should be. Together with Barbara Kelly, her outspoken and recently widowed cleaner, she starts investigating over gin and gossip, and the missing-person mystery turns into a sharp comedy about marriage, class, friendship and middle age.

A two-hander performed in English, produced by Rubber Ear Productions, the company behind Glasgow Hard Tickets, Spare Ribs and The Devil Wears Primark.

Cyprus dates: Limassol, Palio Xidadiko (the Old Vinegar Factory), 20 and 27 November; Nicosia, Artos House, 21 and 22 November; Paphos, Annabelle Hotel, 28 November. Tickets from SoldOut and at Stephanis stores.
