Nicosia is the capital of Cyprus and its largest city, inland at the centre of the island. Its old town sits within 16th-century Venetian walls and holds museums, galleries, and the crossing into the northern part of the divided city. Nicosia hosts much of the island's theatre, art, and cultural programming.
