About
Anogyra is a village in the Limassol district, about 45 kilometres from the town at 170 metres altitude, once a major carob grower and still the only village to make pasteli, the traditional carob-syrup sweet, the old way. Its central square is the village stage, and its best-known fixture is the annual Pasteli Festival each September, a day of pasteli and carob-product stalls, local food, music and dance celebrating the black gold of Cyprus.
