About
Paphos Medieval Castle stands at the end of the Kato Paphos harbour, a small stone fort shaped over Byzantine, Lusignan, Venetian and Ottoman phases. The square around it is one of the town's main open-air venues. It hosts the Pafos Aphrodite Festival, whose opera productions are staged against the floodlit castle, and across the season a run of large events: an open-air ballet, the Paphos Beerfest, and the Taste of Cyprus food festival among them.
