About
Louvaras is a small wine village at around 850 metres in the Pitsilia mountains of the Limassol district, some 28 kilometres from the town. It is one of the fourteen Commandaria villages, licensed to make the sweet dessert wine that dates to Frankish times, and keeps a medieval church of St Mamas, built in 1455, with old frescoes. It is a mountain community rather than a venue, appearing here when it hosts a village cultural event.
